Initial inquiries about publication should be made directly to the Acquisitions Editor at Twelve Tables Press. Prospectuses only should be sent, not complete manuscripts, and these should be sent as hard copy, not via email, to the following address:Attn.: Acquisitions Editor

•A brief cover letter outlining the manuscript’s scope of coverage, appeal, significance to the legal field, fit with existing literature or competition, intended audiences, length, and fit with other Twelve Tables Press publications.
•A detailed outline of the book
•A sample chapter (if available) or writing sample
•A curriculum vitae
•An estimated completion date for the manuscript
Please note that Twelve Tables Press is a small press and must be extremely selective as to the books it publishes. Before submitting a proposal, please review our Publications page to determine the types of books that we are likely to consider for publication.
Please be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you wish to receive a reply. Submissions not accompanied by an SASE will not receive a reply. Please also be sure to include sufficient postage and packaging if you would like us to return your submission. Any submission that does not include return postage will be held for 90 days, after which it will be destroyed.
Examination Copy Policy
Twelve Tables Press will be pleased to send you an examination copy of any book you wish to consider for course use. Please mail or fax your request on your department letterhead specifying the title of your course, your expected enrollment, the semester or quarter in which the course will be offered, the course level (undergraduate or graduate), and any publications now currently being used for this course.
According to our policy, you will be billed, plus shipping charges, payable in 90 days unless you return or adopt the book. All requests can be mailed or faxed to the address noted at the top of this page.
Desk Copy Policy
Desk copies are available for any book that has been assigned as a primary (not "suggested") text in a scheduled class for the current or following term and is on order with a bookstore. A complimentary desk copy is provided with the understanding that copies of the book will be bought by students in the course. (For information on how to order a copy of a book you are considering for potential course adoption, please see our instructions for examination copies above.)
To request a desk copy, please mail or fax the request to the address noted at the top of this page.
Please use your institution's letterhead, making certain to include your name, title, and position; the name of the course in which the book has been assigned; the name of your institution; the number of copies that have been ordered; the date of the order; and the name of the ordering bookstore.
